The PlayStation 4 (PS4) is a home video game console developed by Sony Computer Entertainment.
But sometimes it gives an error NP-40833-8 that says: “There was an error connecting to the server”.
So, in this article, I will guide you on how to fix the PS4 error “NP-40833-8”.
Step 1: Turn off your router (if you are using Wi-Fi) or disconnect the LAN cable and restart/reconnect the router/LAN cable respectively after 30seconds. This will solve the problem, if not then follow the next steps.
Step 2: Reset your Router that will set up the router to default settings and problem will be solved. If not, then follow the next steps.
Step 3: Go to “Settings”.

Step 4: Go to “Network”.

Step 5: Click on “Set Up Internet Connection”.

Step 6: If you are using Wi-Fi, click on “Use Wi-Fi” and if you are using LAN then click on “Use a LAN Cable”. It’s preferable to use LAN.

Step 7: Click on “Custom”.

Step 8: Click on “Automatic”.

Step 9: Click on “Do Not Specify”.

Step 10: Click on “Manual”.

Step 11: Change Primary DNS to “8.8.8.8” and Secondary DNS to “8.8.4.4”. OR Primary DNS to “1.1.1.1” and Secondary DNS to “1.0.0.1”. And click on “Next”.

Step 12: Set MTU Settings to “Automatic”.

Step 13: Set Proxy Server as “Do Not Use”.

Step 14: Click on “Test Internet Connection”.

It will take some time to Set Up and check the Internet Connection. Then you will no longer see PS4 Error NP-40833-8.
